Kathy Firestone - Strings, flute, clarinet, alto sax
(Beginning to intermediate)

I'm Kathy Firestone and you can find me teaching at Classic Axe Guitar Gallery on Wednesday afternoons. Unlike most of the other teachers here, I do not teach Guitar. I teach beginning to intermediate level Strings, Flute and Clarinet.
I have been a Music Director for both Band and Orchestra in several different school districts since 1979 in both Virginia and Maryland. I have instructed both Middle and High school levels, teaching music classes as well as directing and implementing music concerts twice a year.

I hold several music degrees, including a Masters of Music Education from Towson State University; Bachelor of music from, West Virginia University; and an Advanced Professional Teaching Certificate, VA and MD.

Professionally I play flute and fife in several bands; Kings Park Concert Band, Civil Air Patrol Band, Maryland Wind Symphony. I led the parade for the 1996 Olympic Yachting Events held in Savannah , GA; received the "Key" to the City of Savannah for "The Privateers of 1812 Fife & Drum Corps." during the Olympic events. Recorded fife music for the "Gettysburg" computer game. Played fife for the re-enactment of George Washington's funeral which was televised at Mt. Vernon.
