Scott Castonguay - Guitar
(All levels of acoustic guitar, Classical and electric guitar)

Hi I'm Scott and I have no shortage of teaching experience. I have taught private guitar lessons since 1985. I teach all levels of guitar from beginners to advanced; ages 8 thru adult.

I was in the Music Degree program at N.V.C.C. with an emphasis on performance. While as N.V.C.C., I studied classical guitar under Alicia Kopfstien-Penk for one year. For three years I was a member of the N.V.C.C. Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Herb Smith. I then studied private jazz guitar from 1984-88 with internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist Paul Bollenback. From 1985 to present I've performed in a variety of different bands and ensembles.

I have a flexible style of teaching that allows me to teach the fundamentals while at the same time helping the student learn to play favorite songs while at the same time helping them develop their musical ear. I also teach the more advanced students theory, application and important concepts in order to take their playing abilities to new heights. I will serve as a guide for the student; helping them learn to discover for themselves the joys of playing a musical instrument.
