Jimmy Cross - Banjo, Drums
(Beginning to intermediate banjo and drums)

Hi, I'm Jimmy and I have playing music sense early elementary school. I studied drums for years before teaching privately. My other love has been playing Banjo and other Bluegrass/folk instruments for the last 10 years. I have attended many festivals, clinics, and other seminars. I teach Scruggs style three finger banjo which I have learned from many great pickers, including Earl Scruggs himself.

I know, a banjo playing drummer may seem strange to some, but I have played with several local bands and have been teaching privately for several years to earn money to pay for college. I am currently working on my Associates degree in liberal arts at NOVA . Then I will transfer to a BA of Science in liberal arts at George Mason University.

I have never taught in a music store before, only privately. It will be nice to have the students come to me, instead of me having to travel to them. I'm looking forward to this new endeavor at Classic Axe Guitar Gallery. You will find me here on Fridays teaching students from age 7 to adult; beginning to intermediate levels. I don't think there is a genre of music I do not play!
